Getting a flat stomach is a goal that eludes many people. In fact, for even some of the more fit people, getting a flat stomach with six pack abs is the elusive Holy Grail. But why is it so important to us? Why is getting a few ripples in our stomach so coveted?
Put simply, human beings are attracted to signs of great health and are turned off by fat, sick, sad, and average. There is no bigger turn-off than a nice spare tire and some love handles hanging over your waist line. On the flip side, the most recognized, but rare sign of great health is a flat, firm, rippled abdomen. This has become so rare in fact, that many of the top celebs don’t even sport this. The great news though is that you can if you just learn how! But… you have to stop making excuses.
The biggest excuse people seem to use is genetics. “I can’t get lean enough because no one in my family was lean; being sick, sad, fat, and average runs in my family." This, without a doubt, is the biggest load of BS out there today, and the more people say it, the more it seems to become OK for others to cop out with the same BS excuse. It’s said so often now that most people actually believe it’s true! Here are the facts though: less than 1% of people have weight issues due to genetics that can’t be fixed. Less than 1%!
Granted, genetics may make it easier for some and harder for others to reach their goals, but it is in no way impossible. And honestly, once you stop making excuses and get a proper education on what’s causing your belly fat or fat in general, it’s actually pretty easy to get rid of.
So once you take away the excuses and allow yourself to actually do a little work to get the body of YOUR dreams, where exactly does this education come from? How do you know what work to actually do?
That’s not only a wonderful question but it’s the biggest problem facing motivated people who have been doing the work but only see lackluster results. This problem has two parts…
1. There is actually TOO MUCH information out there. With the "next big thing" always being marketed to us, it’s hard to know who to listen to and what to follow. It’s even harder just to stay on a path. Every time you start to make a little progress, there’s always someone out there making a very convincing argument that what you’re doing is wrong and will lead to failure (or worse) if you don’t change up your method and start using theirs. This leads to jumping around, confusion, and absolutely no lasting progress. This also leads us to the second part of the problem…
2. Bad information. It seems like every day, some unscrupulous marketer is taking some poorly conducted scientific study, twisting the findings to fit their needs, and using it to preach a new “scientifically proven” fat loss religion. Unfortunately, it doesn’t just stop there. What happens next is that people start talking about it and it turns into a game of telephone. By the time it gets to your Aunt Bertha, who just can’t wait to give you advice; that one-time bad information that should have been contained comes out as something unrecognizable to even the basic foundations of fitness. Don’t think most bloggers and forum warriors are immune either. They may be a bit more informed sometimes, but they still live on earth and they still get sucked in.
It’s not that all fitness advice is bad and all fitness gurus are full of crap. There are some that make a good living not because they are great snake oil salesmen, but because what they teach actually works. They read the studies themselves when they start hearing hype. They test something new on themselves first and then their clients if they seem promising, and they don’t come out talking about it until they’re convinced one way or the other. I feel very blessed to be personally acquainted with a handful of these guys. I know when I go to them for help, the help they give will actually work for me. I’ll give you some recommendations in a minute in case you’re interested in knowing who will actually help you out as opposed to selling you a bunch of junk just to get your money.
I want to touch on the other major problem above before I do that though. Too much information, from too many sources, that is constantly conflicting with everything else you hear. If you have not yet experienced this… you will soon. You finally find something that you feel is working for you, and then through talking to someone else or reading articles or forums you find that someone else thinks that what you’re doing is wrong. They can usually give a pretty convincing argument as to why they feel this way also.
I’ve seen people that actually know what they are doing and getting good results be completely talked out of what is giving them success. I’ve seen them throw it by the wayside and then flounder for years, talking about that one time when they were really on it. The really messed up thing is that if you ask them what they were doing differently then, they will tell you and then follow it up with why it isn’t a good idea to do again! How crazy is that?!
A friend of mine and amazing fitness coach, Vince Delmonte, has a very lucrative business online as a trainer. He’s designed some of the most incredible, muscle building programs in the world and has tens of thousands of people that can vouch for them.
A few years ago I got a new member in my gym. He was 42 years old and pretty much had the typical "skinny fat guy" body. You could tell he’d never really worked out much as he had a huge gut with thin arms and legs. I got to talking to him one day and he told me he’d purchased a program online that he’d been using with decent results, but saw in a major fitness magazine that that the principles of what he was doing wouldn’t give him the best results. So after talking to him for a few minutes he asked me about Vince’s programs. I told him my experiences and I put them in contact with each other. When he told Vince why he wanted to change programs, Vince said something I’ll never forget…He said “Almost any program or diet out there will work for you if you are willing to STICK TO the program. Go back and finish what you’re doing, and when you’re done come find me and I’ll help you.”
The guy was standing there trying to give Vince his money and he was told to keep his money and work the program he’s on. Vince later told me that he didn’t want someone in his program that was just going to jump to the next when he didn’t like something and that with that attitude, he wouldn’t get results no matter what program he was on. Amazingly enough, what Vince told him shocked him so much that he did go back to his program and he did get great results. Now he’s actually done a couple of Vince’s programs too, and the guy is now one of the most fit people in my gym! His gut is totally gone, his arms are cut, and his legs are getting some serious size! I haven’t seen it but he told me he has a nice six pack starting to come in.
The reason I tell you this is to illustrate the point that almost any program will work if you actually work the program. However, if your program is wishy-washy and something that was just thrown together from a little of this and a little of that, your chances of sticking to it when it gets tough are almost nonexistent no matter how psyched up you are in the beginning. You’ll always have that nagging feeling in the back of your mind that you may not be getting the most out of all the work you’re doing. Honestly, you’d probably be right.
While it’s true that almost any program can get you results, some programs and diets are definitely better than others. The best ones tackle everything systematically so you make the most out of every movement you make, and every bite of food you take. In other words, everything you do and eat works as a whole. Your hormones balance, your sleep patterns get better, your energy levels boost, you’re happier, your mind becomes clearer, you don’t crave junk anymore, and you start seeing the fat melt away and muscle tone start to show through. In other words, the good systems are designed to make your body work the way it’s supposed to work. When you’re body is firing on all cylinders, fat doesn’t stand a chance of sticking around!
This is why I suggest that everyone, no matter how experienced, follow a complete program designed by a true expert. Not your cousin that goes to the gym and reads all the supplement company-owned “fitness” magazines. Not your runner friend that eats a little better than you and has read a few books about health. Not even one of these “personal trainers” in most of the McGyms out there. I was shocked when I started working for a very popular gym chain and found out that they were just hiring people off the street that didn’t even work out themselves, had no background in fitness, no degree, and no certifications! The only thing they expected was that within 6 months, the new “personal trainer” had to study for and pass the NASM certification--which doesn’t exactly make you a fitness guru. In the meantime though, these average, uncertified people were encouraged to go out on the gym floor and get clients. In fact, they’d be fired if they didn’t!
What you need to do is find a complete program designed by an expert that lives and breathes fitness. Find someone who spends their off-time reading those boring medical and fitness journals and testing new theories in the field. Find someone that specializes in the things that you want to accomplish and truly knows it inside and out. Find a program written by one of these people that suits your personal needs and then follow it! Yes, it will cost a little money, but if you’re serious about getting results you need to be serious about the plan you’re armed with going in.
Honestly, it’s not even that expensive if you know where to look. In fact, one of the best ones I know of for people trying to burn belly fat and finally get a six pack is only $39 bucks! The point is, you don’t have to go broke to get high quality information that you can trust to give you actual, real results. You know, real results. The results that you can actually have and keep as opposed to the wheel spinning you’ll do with all the scam diets and plastic infomercial ab machines and belts that cost 4X as much on average. It really is enough to drive me crazy.
But I digress. It’s late and I should go to bed before I have a coronary thinking about all the BS out there in the fitness world.
Train hard expect success,
Kris
<<<EDIT>>>
Sorry guys and gals! I must have been more tired than I’d thought. I woke up this morning to 36 emails lambasting me for not telling them the program I was talking about…oops! Even though a few of the emails were less than kind, it still kind of made my day to see so many people so fanatical about doing something with their health and getting the results they want. The response was so overwhelming that I started getting worried I’d hyped it too much.
Honestly though, I know for a fact that if you are willing to give it an honest try, you will see the results coming quickly and steadily. You will have the body you want.
OK, you’re probably sick of me talking, and because I don’t want to tease those of you that aren’t sitting around making excuses about your genetics or about how much spending $39 would ruin your life right now, I’ll just get to it.
The program I was referring to above is written by a guy named Mike Geary. He’s a real personal trainer with actual degrees and certifications. He’s also a nutrition specialist and a huge fitness dork. Personally I love the guy because every time I talk to him my head spins from all the new information he’s always learning.
Anyway, the program is called “The Truth About Abs” and it really is just that. So like I said, if your goal is to lose fat, flatten your stomach, get a six pack, learn to eat healthier, massively increase your health and fitness level, learn about supplements, get meal plans made for you, or just to be a fitness genius yourself with all the stuff you’ll learn, and don’t think spending $39 will cripple you, get it now. Don’t procrastinate. Get it now and thank me in a few months when your flat stomach and six pack is the envy of everyone you know.
Train hard expect success,
Kris
PS. I know I said I’d give you some other recommendations and I’m sure I will soon but I really don’t want to confuse the issue right now. The one I’ve given you is one of the best and most complete. Amazingly enough is somehow its also the cheapest of the programs I know to be great. In short, it will get you results so I feel it would not only be counterproductive, but also go against my own principles to give you ten choices and expect you to then to be able to take immediate action. Now stop sending me hate mail and go grab the program so you can get started on the right path.
<<<EDIT>>>
OK, so after the placing the last part of the post actually revealing the program, I am now getting a ton of questions on the program. So I’ve decided to just write out a short FAQ.
Q. Will this program work for women/men/older people/younger people/my dog?
A. I’m not sure about the dog but for everyone else, yes it will. The foundation of the program is really the foundation of human health. It’s designed to get the body working again the way its supposed to. There are slight tweaks for men and woman but amazingly enough, we respond to very similar stimuli so there aren’t many changes. Of course if you have a heart condition or something like that, you should consult your doctor before starting the routine.
Q. I’m a woman and don’t want to get too bulky, will this program make me look like a gorilla?
A. This is a pretty common concern amongst woman. The answer is no. While you can use the principles of the program to put on muscle, Mike knows that this is a major concern for people so he’s added in ways to avoid it.
Q. I don’t have a lot of fat and I just want to get really muscular, is this program right for me?
A. This program is something I would suggest for everyone. The information included will be valuable to your overall health for years. That said though, if your main goal is just to put on lots of muscles, the better program for you would probably be Vince Delmonte’s No Nonsense Muscle Building. Its more money but you WILL gain massive amounts of muscle if you follow it.
WOW!!!! I THOUGHT ALL TRAINERS HAD TO GO TO SCHOOL FOR IT!!!

Yeah I used to think that too until I was actually in the middle of it all. Now I may have come down a little too hard, not all trainers are bad. Some, like Mike Geary, have more practical knowledge than they'll ever know what to do with. Most though are subpar at best. Unfortunately, much of the gym industry treat their trainers as sales people above being trainers. Its all about the bottom line...

Haha, thanks Meggan,
I appreaciate you following my other blogs, I just started this one up so its good to know I already have followers!
Anyway, if you've been following me for a while and have listened to my other advice, I'm going to guess that you're not in bad shape. I think you'll be very happy with the results you see from this program and in the three months or so between now and summer you should see great results!
For everyone else, Meggan is right. I should have checked but Mike has a special that allows you to try the program for 21 days for $4.95 if you click the order tab on the top right. Thanks again Meggan. Let me know how you progress!
