I almost forgot to post this. Many of you know that last week I posted my new personal challenge to gain 20lbs of muscle by September 4th. I have good news and bad news on that front.
First the bad news. It was supposed to be a challenge against a friend of mine that wanted to lose 20lbs by that date. It looks like this won't happen as she has sustained an injury that may keep her from exercising for the time being.
The good news though is that I'm not using it as an excuse for my own goals. Even if the bet is off, I'm still trudging forward and still accountable for my promises. That being said, after 1 week, I'm weighing in 3 pounds heavier at a weight of 156lbs. This is I believe what I called for myself last week so I'm happy to have hit it.
THis month my routine is a heavy strength routine (low reps, high weight). My cardio consists of 20 minutes of steep incline walking which amazingly enough has been kicking my a**
Another change I've had to make in order to get some strength back and get some more water and glycogen in my muscles is putting a lot of grains back in my diet. Upon doing this, I actually gained 5 lbs of mainly water weight in the first day. I cut it back though and dropped the weight back down a little.
Look for another update next Wednesday. I'm looking for 159lbs!
